WTFlux

Upon hitting 58, I ran (flew?) to the Blasted Lands. Yes, I know my hearthstone is set in Honor hold, but there’s just something about stepping through the dark portal yourself. So Lexy and I stared at the portal, getting our courage up to go on in, when a little blood elf warlock chick came screaming through the portal, running right by me. I thought about killing her, but I just wanted to get this over with. Lex and I started walking, then running right into the portal.

And immediately I feel insignificant. The first things I saw were alliance and horde armies mounting for something - apparently that huge pitboss in front of me roflpwning everything. They’re all going to die. As you can see here, poor Lexy is like “WTF - I’m out of here…”

I absolutely hate HATE, the taste and smell of portals. The mage portals are okay, the warlock portals make me puke, and these dark portal things make me want to die. Those smells DONT COME OUT of your armor. I’m going to have to get ALL NEW ARMOR - and soon! Hey….wait a minute… Those are pretty nice pants for a quest reward, and look at that weapon reward!!!!

We didn’t have mages, we didn’t have warlocks, we didn’t have warriors.

We DID have 4 paladins, disconnections, afk’s after nearly every pull, amazingly stupid guild drama that pulled out Guild leader (and Main tank) out of the raid for awhile. Our number 2 DPSer, a shadow priest had to bail after Curator and we got roflpwned 4-5 times at Prince for different and bewildering issues.

I did get 2 drops: Tirisfal Wand of Ascendancy and Bands of Nefarious Deeds giving me whopping +10 Shadow damage as a result. I DID get enough badges to get something cool - Icon of the Silver Crescent.

We started off great, getting Attumen, Moroes, and Maiden in 1 hour.  Then the brakes hit.  D-cons, AFKs, headaches, the aforementioned guild drama.  We got Dorothy, Chess, Nightbane, Curator, Aran, and then got rooster blocked at Prince.

Aggro issues, melee people dying with the shadow blasts, a few bad infernal drops and wow, look at that it’s 4 freaking am.  I’m fairly certain we could have shaved 2 hours off our run (and possibly gotten a few more bosses) had we kept our initial group and everyone could have stayed at the keyboard.  I kinda thought it might be like this when I showed up 10 minutes until the first pull, and I was the first one there.  35 minutes later we were buffing up for our first pull.

Having said all that, it was a fun but waaaay too long of an evening playing WoW.

I changed my favicon. To most of you this is really stupid and you could care less. It’s actually the same picture you see here. in this post. I like lolcats, and I’m really not sure why. I think cats are stupid actually and I like dogs.

Thanks to the Blog Azeroth people who put up some great resources so dumb people like me can do really cool things. Ok, so this favicon thing may or may not be cool, but I like it. They have a really nice guide over there on how to do this, so feel free to check em out and join up. I actually downloaded a plugin (Digital Ramble’s favicon manager) for Wordpress that manages this for you and it works for me so I guess I like it.

I love having the little tool-tip stuff come up when you describe certain items in the World of Warcraft. Especially items that I covet. Or items that I perhaps coveted in the past….

Welcome to mah WoW home. I really do suck at PvP. I see the horde, or alliance, and can just FEEL the evil malice in their hears to roflpwn me. When I do foolishly feel lucky enough, I ALWAYS die. I got killed by a level 50 priest the other day on my 57 hunter. I got killed 5 times in a row by a 57 druid today at lunch. It was great. Once I had him to like 1%. I feel like I should open a ticket with a GM to protest it. Can’t find the right category though.

Anyway - this isn’t a PvP WoW blog, lol far from it. I might share my PvP exploits annihilations with you, so you can delight in teh funni. This blog is really about me, a casual WoW player, a dad, an IT guy - playing this game called World of Warcraft. The only notable characters I have are a 70 Human shadow priest, 57 NELF Beastmastery Hunter, and a 53 Rogue. I am so horrible with Rogues, that I not only do I not know what spec he is, but I’m really not sure that it matters. I stab you in the back. My Rogue is Horde, and I love the Horde. They are way more interesting than the Alliance. So you see my dilemma.

I’m a recovering altaholic, so I’m not going to mention much about my Mage, Warlock, Warrior, Hunter alts. Maybe.

I’ve raided pre-BC; ZG, AQ, MC, etc. and we have Kara on farm status. Most of my raid life was as a Holy/Disc. Healer, but I really hate not being able to quest or kill anything so I stopped healing and went shadow. I had about 1500+ healing at that point but my guild was pretty supportive. Now I’ve crawled up the +damage ranks to around +800 spell damage unbuffed. I’m in a casual raiding guild right now - Bobo’s House of Gank. We are contemplating 25 man content.

My shadow priest is my “main” but I could see my hunter getting there in the future. Especially when WOTLK comes out. My hunter has about 15-20 pieces of gear stashed away in the bank from levels 58-70 so I think he’s going to blaze through the outlands on his way to 70.

I’m not a big theorycrafter, I love the guild management/organization stuff, I like to have strategery for raids, I think world PvP is awesome but I never do it. I don’t apologize for the fact that I don’t play 2-3 hours a day. I take welfare epics and lol @ the epic raiders. Don’t get me wrong- I love guild progression and new content, I just have a very limited amount of time to play.

I love cooking. I tolerate fishing.
