6. Leatherworking rocks for hunters.  Check (225…grrr)
5. Get a cat/ravager/raptor pet for DPSCheck
4. Cooking is the single most important and profitable generic-profession for hunters.  Check 375

2. You cannot put off learning the Jump Shot any longer. Check - got that one in the bag
1. Once you hit 70, the time has come for you to teach someone. Kinda done…**

* I don’t know how I feel about this.  So far my trapping in heroics (last night in Shattered Halls heroics) has been pretty successful.
** I helped a co-worker understand how to play a hunter and make some money…does that count?

I would love the Beastmaster helm and shoulders, I’m still rocking greens.  Other than that I’ve got a pretty good start.  Yesterday I got my axe and slapped a +35agi on it.  I’m sitting on 1400 unbuffed AP with about 5 greens still.  Progress has been made.

  1. Cynra Said,

About your concerns regarding the Survival tree, it helps a lot but it really isn’t necessary. Prior to sitting down and reviewing my build pre-raiding, I had a mere six points in the Survival tree — and only for Hawk Eye and Humanoid Slaying. Getting the talents that help you trap better will make your job easier, but it doesn’t make you a better trapper. With skill, practice, finesse, and a lot of experience, you can do exceptionally well trapping without the Survival tree!

The two-piece Beast Lord set bonus is divine and I still carry the set in my bag for fights where I know I’ll be trapping for a long time or when we’re low in crowd control for certain instances (Tempest Keep comes to mind). It’s one of those things that you keep with you until your end of days even after you have pieces that are infinitely better because sometimes that little edge helps more than added damage — and, unlike respeccing deeper into the Survival tree, it’s a temporary effect that you can switch out of before the next pull.

  2. Griff Said,

AWESOME tips! I need to get me some beast lord. Preferrably the pants and shoulders now. Thanks for the great comment!
